Ambitious Summer

Standard

I’ve got a feeling that this summer is going to be very productive for me, since I didn’t even consider getting a summer job. So 2 minutes ago I put up a sticky note with a list on my desk of my goals this summer, and I’d like to share it.

  • Finish painting up my whole aquarelleblock (39 arcs left)
  • Paint at least 10 paintings on canvas
  • Finish my bag
  • Finish the scarf I’m knitting
  • Knit a hat
  • Draw at least 20 drawings (whether it’s black & white or color doesn’t matter)

A lot of work, but I need to extend my patience (since I have so little of it) if I’m going to work with animation and art in the future.

The Machinist

Standard

Just finished watching The Machinist, great movie indeed.

To be honest, the reason I wanted to see this movie in the first place was because I read in an article that Christian Bale lost a lot of weight for a movie, something that had raised questions about how far one should go for the art. There wasn’t much else I know than it’s a movie about a guy who haven’t slept for a year.

It begins as a normal movie, I suppose (however you describe it better I do not know). One severed arm here and the creepiness begins. The tension is so thick I was expecting something scary, but looking closer at the imdb profile I see that the movie is mystery thriller. I don’t think I would’ve handled anything scary then with that much tension.

The same small things returns as a theme and the movie goes from “WTF is going on? This is freaking me out.” to all the pieces falling together nicely.

Christian Bale is excellent as Trevor, who looks almost like a skeleton. I’m surprised he could run with barely any leg muscles left.

I think I’ll put this on the list of movies I’ll get when I have the spare money.

Best Day Ever!

Standard

The day started with a wonderful fever and a desert-dry mouth.

The cough was one cough away from coughing up my lungs, or my breakfast. Yay!

My nose has had enough snot blown out of it to fill a silo and resulted in awesome wounds.

As I came home from the best day ever fever and headaches hit me like a hammer.

This was the best day ever.

Note: this entry is filled with sarcasm. My day sucked ass.

Colds Can Kiss My Ass

Standard

The only thing, and I mean ONLY thing, that ever makes me sick is colds.

Right now I’m on my 2nd cold of this year, just in time for all the last tests and all those things teachers squeeze into your schedule just to pester you.

My cold stages are; sore throat, runny nose, coughs that almost makes me vomit and sinusitis.

The sore throat lasts for around a day and a half. The runny nose can go for a whole week or ten days. The coughing lasts between 3-4 days. If I’m lucky I don’t get sinusitis but if I do I can’t think straight for 2 days.

What I hate most though is how bruised my nose gets after blowing my nose so many damn times. And you can’t sleep well either. Your nose is stuffed and the only way to sleep is to breathe with your mouth open, which causes you to wake up with a mouth dry as a desert.

Right now I’m in the 3rd day of my cold. Slight coughing and my nose is already sore. It feels like someone scrubbed my nose with sandpaper or steel wool. I estimate that the cold will last at least until Friday.

Usually I get colds 2-3 times a year. Since I don’t get sick from anything else, my colds are hell. I HATE colds.
